Dissociation

Dissociation is a natural response to overwhelming experiences—it's the mind’s way of creating distance when something feels too much to handle. It can show up as feeling disconnected from your body, your thoughts, your emotions, or even your identity. While it’s often a survival strategy rooted in trauma, it can become confusing or distressing when it lingers long after the danger has passed. Dissociation is complex. My approach is grounded in deep respect for your nervous system's wisdom and a commitment to helping you build safety, connection, and integration—at a pace that feels right for you.

Healing from dissociation isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about understanding how you survived, and building trust with the parts of you that needed to disconnect.

At Blue Pearl Therapy, we use an integrative approach that may include:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – connecting with inner parts

  • EMDR – processing traumatic memories at your pace

  • Somatic Therapy – noticing and working with the body’s wisdom

  • Stabilization & Grounding – creating safety and presence first

Whether you're newly discovering dissociation or have known it for years, we start where you are.

If you think that you or a loved one might be suffering from a dissociative disorder, reach out.

There is a way out, and you do not have to go through it alone.
